A discussion was held between the Eastern University, Sri Lanka, and officials of the Exiga Private Limited, Sri Lanka on 16.02.2023 at Board Room of the University.

This discussion was conducted on the request of Exiga on “an invitation to be a part of the history creating legacy, enabling the students of Sri Lanka to take on the world on new technology”.

The ceremonial opening of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Eastern University, Sri Lanka has been held on the 1st February 2023 at the Eastern University, Sri Lanka, Vantharumoolai Chenkalady. Retired Prof M Selvarajah, Chancellor of Eastern University Sri Lanka has participated as a Chief Guest along with Prof V Kanagasingam, Vice Chancellor of Eastern University, Sri Lanka and Prof K E Karunaharan, Deputy Vice Chancellor.

SWOT Analysis for the Institutional Review was conducted on 1st February 2023 from 1.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. for all Non-Academic staff and from 11.00 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. for all the team members of the SER Writing team for the IR, 4 nominated members from the Administrative Staff and 4 nominated members from the Non-Academic Staff of the EUSL in the Board Room, EUSL. The Resource person for this review is Senior Prof. T. Velnampy, Senior Professor, Department of Accounting, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Jaffna.

The Sri Lanka Inter University Games 2022 main events were held from November 12th to 8th January 2023, and were organized by Sri Lanka University Sports Association.

The Eastern University, Sri Lanka is very proud to present the ‘1st International Conference on Multidisciplinary Research - 2023 (ICMR - 2023)’ under the theme of: “One World One Family” had been held from 3rd to 4th of January 2023 at Eastern University, Sri Lanka. This Conference had been jointly organized by the Center for Multidisciplinary Research, Eastern University, Sri Lanka and Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence, India. The conference aimed at expanding the program by including all aspects related to multidisciplinary approach for essential sustainable management.

A Special Meeting of the Senate Standing Committee Meeting on Quality Assurance was conducted on 19.12.2022 at 09.00 a.m. at the Board Room, EUSL.

The meeting was chaired by the Vice Chancellor with the participation of Snr. Prof. Tilak P D Gamage Director / Quality Assurance Council of University Grants Commission.

This was focused on implementation of the Quality Assurance mechanism at the University level.

The Celebration of Christmas at the Eastern University, Sri Lanka began with the opening of the first ever grand decoration on 16th December 2022, which was initiated by the Vice Chancellor Prof. V. Kanagasingam, and facilitated by the Christian Non-academic employees of the EUSL.

A collaborative discussion was held on 15.12.2022 with the distinguished participation of Academic staff from the Faculty of Agriculture and Faculty of Technology to meet the farmer representatives of all divisions through the Chamber of Commerce Industry and Agriculture. Academics are in person and did hear the real issues of Agriculture and understood curiously with novel suggestions. Several inputs from the farmers lead to important conclusions of essential Famer-based contextualized educational training and comprehensive farming community-based research.

The Senior Common Room Society (SCRS), EUSL organized a Tree Planting Ceremony at the premises of Eastern University Playground on 28/11/2022 with the assistance of the Department of Forest, Batticaloa and the Capital works & planning Division, EUSL.
