Discussion on the Implementation of the Sri Lanka Qualifications Framework (SLQF)
The Centre for Quality Assurance (CQA) of Eastern University, Sri Lanka conducted a discussion session on “Better Implementation of the Sri Lanka Qualifications Framework (SLQF)” on 12 February 2026at the Seminar Hall of the Staff Development Centre.
The session aimed to strengthen the implementation of the Sri Lanka Qualifications Framework and enhance the quality of teaching and learning in line with national higher education standards. The discussion focused on improving academic systems and promoting best practices in curriculum development.
The programme was attended by members of the University Curriculum Review Committee, including the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Chair of the CRC), Deans of Faculties, and Chairpersons of the Faculty Curriculum Development Committees.
The session was facilitated by Prof. P. Elango, Director of the CQA, who highlighted key aspects such as strengthening Quality Assurance (QA) practices, promoting Outcome-Based Education (OBE), and encouraging Student-Centred Learning (SCL) in accordance with national policies and guidelines.
This initiative reflects the continued commitment of the CQA to promoting academic excellence and ensuring alignment with national quality standards at Eastern University, Sri Lanka.
