The Quality Assurance Unit (QA Unit) of the Trincomalee Campus functions as the focal point for coordinating and implementing quality assurance activities at the campus level, in alignment with the policies, guidelines, and procedures of the Centre for Quality Assurance (CQA), Eastern University, Sri Lanka (EUSL), and the Quality Assurance Framework of the University Grants Commission (UGC).

The QA Unit is responsible for facilitating and promoting a quality culture within the Trincomalee Campus through the organization and conduct of awareness programmes, workshops, and related activities on quality assurance, in collaboration with the CQA/EUSL.

The Campus Coordinator of the QA Unit shall be appointed by the Rector of the Trincomalee Campus on the recommendation of the Campus Board and with the approval of the Council of the University. The Campus Coordinator shall work in close coordination with the Director, CQA/EUSL, and shall be responsible for developing and implementing the Operational Guidelines of the QA Unit in accordance with the guidelines issued by the CQA/EUSL and the UGC.

Further, the Campus Coordinator shall facilitate, coordinate, and support the preparation of the Self-Evaluation Report (SER) for both Internal and External Institutional Reviews of the Trincomalee Campus, in line with the UGC Quality Assurance Framework and under the guidance of the CQA/EUSL. The Campus Coordinator shall report on the progress of quality assurance activities and the status of implementation of the Institutional Review Action Plan to the Campus Board and the Senate Standing Committee on Quality Assurance (SSCQA) of the Eastern University, Sri Lanka.
