Senior National Basketball Championship.

Sri Lanka Combine Universities Women’s teams participated in the Level II category of the Senior National Basketball Championship 2021 and the Women’s the team won the Level II championship, The following Students of the Eastern University represented in this competition and Mr. M Paranithasan IPE was appointed as the coach for the women’s team.

The next "SLUG" (Sri Lankan Universities Games) will be held at the EUSL in 2022.

The AGM of the "Sri Lanka Universities Sports Association (SLUSA) was held at the EUSL on 23.02.2020 and Dr. (Mrs.) Chandrakantha Mahendranathan has been selected as the new President of SLUSA at this AGM. The next "SLUG" (Sri Lankan Universities Games) will be held at the EUSL in 2022.

AS per that Mrs. Rohini Antony Puvanasingham, the Director of Physical Education, EUSL has been selected as the Secretary of the SLUSA. 

Inter-Faculty Tournaments 2019

Inter-Faculty Championships-2019 was successfully conducted by the Physical Education Unit with the support of the Sports Council, Eastern University.

All the sports categories available at the University were included for this mega event which was held from March 20th to 10th July 2019, followed by a closing ceremony Prof F C Ragel, the Vice-Chancellor, Eastern University was the Chief Guest. 

World University Cross Country Championship 2018

கோவிந்தராசா கோகிலநாதன் எதிர்வரும் 6 ஆம், 7 ஆம் திகதி ஏப்பிரல் மாதம் சுவிஸ்லாந்தில் சென்ட் கலன் நகரில் நடைபெறவுள்ள சர்வதேச பல்கலைக்கழகங்களுக்கு இடையிலான ஓட்டப் போட்டியில் (Cross Country Championship) பங்கு கொள்வதற்காக சுவிஸ்லாந்து பயணமானார்.

 

Sri Lanka University Games 2016

The Sri Lanka University Games 2016 (SLUG 2016) main events were held form September 1st to 13th 2016, was organized by Wayamba University of Sri Lanka in collaboration with Sri Lanka University Sports Association. Unlike annual Inter University tournaments; SLUG conducted once in every 3 years and organizing University is responsible for conduction of all events, accommodation etc. More than 300 students both boys and girls interested in sports activities took part from our University for various sports. The results of events that our students have won shown below.
