His Excellency the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China, Mr Qi Zhenhong has awarded nearly 4.3 million to University students.

Visitation of the Hon. Governor (Eastern Province) at Eastern University, Sri Lanka on 30.08.2022

Memorandum of Understanding signed between Eastern University and National peace council to conduct a short course for Government staff on ‘Inclusive service delivery’ in Eastern University. This will be a good opportunity for community to receive quality service of the government. 

The office of the Centre for Industry and Community Linkages (CICL) was officially declared open on 07.07.2022.

In the grand opening ceremony Prof. V. Kanagaingam, Vice chancellor, EUSL graced the occasion as Chief guest. Dr E. Srinaath, MOH, Chenkalady attended as a special guest and Dr K. Arulanandem, Director CICL organized the ceremony.

The Eastern University, Sri Lanka initiated actions to establish an Engineering Faculty. The Committee, appointed by the Council of the Eastern University, Sri Lanka (EUSL) to carry out the initial works related to establishing the said Faculty at the EUSL, has recently met under the chairmanship of Prof. V. Kanagasingam / Vice-Chancellor.

A Memorandum of Agreement was signed between Eastern University, Sri Lanka (EUSL) and the Association of Mobilizing Community Resources (AMCOR).

On behalf of the University, the Vice Chancellor Prof. V. Kanagasingam and the Head of Mission of AMCOR Mr P.Muralitharan signed the agreement on the occasion of Project Orientation on Improving Student’s Skills in Preventing Violent Extremism (PVE) signed on 24.06.2022 at Board Room, EUSL.

A Tree Planting Ceremony was held at the Eastern University, Sri Lanka on 09/06/2022 to mark the World Environment Day with the assistance of the Department of Forest, Batticaloa.

The Vice-Chancellor, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Dean/ Faculty of Agriculture, Registrar, Bursar of the EUSL, Additional Divisional Forest Officer, Students and ​many other officials from the Eastern University, Sri Lanka and Department of Forest graced this occasion.

The Vice Chancellor, Eastern University, Sri Lanka Prof. V. Kanagasingam met the delegates from the Brandix Apparel Solutions Ltd. on 30th May, 2022 at the Office of the Vice Chancellor.

The delegates visited, on the invitation of the Career Guidance Unit of the University for an official discussion to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Eastern University, Sri Lanka and the Brandix Lanka Ltd. to strengthen the career guidance activities of the university.
