Meritorious Service Awards, Felicitation to Retired Staff – 2025 and the Vice-Chancellor’s  Award for Output-Based Research – 2024 

The Ceremony of the Meritorious Service Awards and Felicitation to Retired Staff for 2025, along  with the Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Output-Based Research for 2024, was held on 29th October  2025 at the Nalliah Auditorium, Eastern University, Sri Lanka. 

This special occasion was dedicated to celebrating the loyalty, commitment, and invaluable service; 25, 30, 35 and 40 years of staff members of Academic, Administrative and Non-Academic  staffs who have contributed immensely to the growth and success of the University over the years.  It was a proud and emotional moment for the Eastern University community to come together and  honour those whose dedication and perseverance have strengthened the very foundation of the  institution. 

The ceremony also featured the presentation of the Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Output-Based  Research - 2024, recognizing excellence in research and innovation — the key forces that continue  to elevate the University’s academic reputation. 

On behalf of the University community, the Vice Chancellor extends his heartfelt congratulations to all recipients of the Meritorious Service Awards and Research Awards, and to the honoured  retired colleagues whose wisdom, integrity, and compassion have guided the institution through  decades of transformation. Their legacy of service and excellence continues to inspire future  generations at the Eastern University, Sri Lanka.
