“Madai Paraval,” a Traditional Food Festival

The CICL (Centre for Industry Community Linkage) successfully organised the aforementioned event on February 21, 2026, in accordance with the decision taken at its 13th Management Committee. The following stakeholders participated in the event, which took place at the Technopark Premises on February 21, 2026, from 9.30 am to 2.30 pm.

Expert Talk and Worshop on Solar Cells

Centre for Industry and Community Linkages (CICL) of EUSL organized an informative event on that topic, which has taken place in the EUSL boardroom on January 9, 2026, at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm. The resource person, Prof. Govindasamy Tamizhmani, a research professor of engineering at Arizona State University's Polytechnic School in the United States, presented talks and led two workshops on the subject of solar cells.

Commencement of the Academic and Administrative Year – 2026

Eastern University, Sri Lanka ceremonially commenced the first working day of the Year 2026 with a dignified programme attended by religious dignitaries representing Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, and Christianity, the Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Deans of Faculties, Registrar, Librarian, Bursar, Heads of Departments, and members of the academic, administrative, academic support, and non-academic staff.

US Embassy Officials Visit EUSL to Review English Language Fellow Program

Eastern University, Sri Lanka (EUSL), hosted officials from the United States Embassy in Colombo on November 6, 2025, to review the progress of the ongoing English Language Fellow Program. This initiative is a close collaboration between the US Embassy and EUSL, dedicated to enhancing the English language skills of the university's undergraduate students.

Meritorious Service Awards, and the Vice-Chancellor’s  Award for Output-Based Research

Meritorious Service Awards, Felicitation to Retired Staff – 2025 and the Vice-Chancellor’s  Award for Output-Based Research – 2024 

The Ceremony of the Meritorious Service Awards and Felicitation to Retired Staff for 2025, along  with the Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Output-Based Research for 2024, was held on 29th October  2025 at the Nalliah Auditorium, Eastern University, Sri Lanka. 

 Visit of the Minister of Science and Technology to the Techno Park, EUSL

A discussion on the establishment of a Technology Incubation Centre in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Technology was held at the Techno Park, Eastern University, Sri Lanka, on 19th July 2025.

The proposed Centre aims to provide state-of-the-art research and development facilities, including design and manufacturing technologies and consultation on business development and intellectual property. It is expected to serve as a hub for scientists, researchers, graduates, and innovators to transform ideas into practical solutions.
